Hello! I hope all is well with everyone. As we end the month and end the quarter, look around and take in the beauty of the fall foliage. Mother nature out does herself this time of year. Simply beautiful!
One Book - One School - This year our PTA will be participating in the One Book One School Program. It is a program designed to create a shared reading experience within a school community. The May Watts PTA will be purchasing the same book for each and every May Watts family to promote reading. Students will be encouraged to vote for which of the 4 choices they would like to PTA to purchase. Below is a short synopsis of each book being considered. Students may vote Mon. 10/21 and Tues. 10/22.
James and the Giant Peach - A young boy escapes from two wicked aunts and embarks on a series of adventures with six giant insects he meets inside a giant peach.
The Mouse and the Motorcycle - A reckless young mouse named Ralph makes friends with a boy in room 215 of the Mountain View Inn and discovers the joys of motorcycling.
Frindle - When he decides to turn his fifth-grade teacher's love of the dictionary around on her, clever Nick Allen invents a new word and begins a chain of events that quickly moves beyond his control.
The World According to Humphrey - Humphrey, pet hamster at Longfellow School, learns that he has an important role to play in helping his classmates and teacher.
